In October, ECRF honored Hispanic Heritage Month by recognizing Hispanic and Latino communities for their history, cancer challenges, and vital contributions, while advancing research and equitable care as gynecologic cancers rise among Hispanic women.

We recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month, highlighting how awareness and advocacy, symbolized by the pink ribbon, drive outcomes. ECRF extends this mission to all gynecologic and women’s cancers, ensuring that every woman receives equitable care, consideration, and research attention because every woman’s story matters.

We also honored World Menopause Awareness Month, highlighting its connection to endometrial cancer. Menopause, whether natural or induced, deeply affects health and identity at any age and stage of life. We celebrate women who navigate these changes and draw strength from each other, reaffirming our commitment to support and empower every woman through every phase.

Take action now: learn the signs and symptoms of menopause, advocate for equitable research and care, and share ECRF resources in your community. Your involvement empowers women and helps transform awareness into action so every woman is seen, heard, and supported.

Patient Advocacy Corner 📣

Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Survivorship & Supportive Care Symposium
October 29–30, 2025 | Coconut Grove, Miami, FL

ECRF had the honor to attend the 4th Annual Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Survivorship and Supportive Care Symposium. More than 500 attendees, including survivors, clinicians, researchers, and advocates, gathered to exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and shape the future of survivorship care and research. The event focused on improving health and quality of life for cancer survivors beyond treatment, with active listening to patients at the heart of every discussion.

Sylvester’s leaders have set new national benchmarks for survivorship care and policy, helping to develop the NCI Survivorship Standards and the Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act—as highlighted in their article, “Sylvester Institute Launch Marks Giant Leap for Cancer Survivors.” Their leadership continues to pave the way for a unified, patient-centered approach that prioritizes survivorship as a key component of comprehensive cancer care.

With over 18 million cancer survivors in the U.S. today, this marks a transformative moment for advocacy, collaboration, and standardizing survivorship care. Sylvester’s leaders have set new national benchmarks for survivorship care and policy by helping develop the NCI survivorship standards and the Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act.

ECRF celebrates this milestone and remains committed to continuing these conversations, advocating for patient-centered approaches that prioritize the voices and needs of survivors. We look forward to sharing more insights and takeaways from this inspiring event soon.
