As Black History Month comes to a close, we honor Black women's strength and ongoing contributions as we confront the inequities shaping endometrial cancer outcomes. Each year, over 69,000 endometrial cancer cases are projected in the United States. Black women face higher mortality and are more often diagnosed with aggressive, late-stage disease. These subtypes are more common in Black women, worsening outcomes. Endometrial cancer rates are rising, especially among Black women. Yet Black patients remain underrepresented in clinical research. Without their inclusion in trials, equitable progress is out of reach. These disparities reflect gaps in early detection, access to care, and representation in research. Closing them demands sustained, intentional action. Normalizing conversations about symptoms is essential. In Cancer Health’s article, “Why It’s Important to Normalize Conversations About Symptoms of Endometrial Cancer,” Margie Wilson, program manager with the Endometrial Cancer Action Network for African Americans (ECANA) and patient advocate for Black women, shares her story of unexplained bleeding and navigating a complex health system. She highlights initial symptoms, treatment challenges, and the value of open conversations on women’s health. Her story underscores how open conversations about symptoms can empower women, especially those at higher risk, to recognize abnormal bleeding sooner and seek prompt medical evaluation. But awareness alone is not enough. Advancing equity also requires meaningful access to care and clinical research opportunities for those who have been historically underrepresented. That is why we believe clinical trials must reflect the communities most affected. In line with this commitment, we are proud to partner with iSimcha Health to expand access and transparency in research. Together, we introduce ECRF Trial Finder, a tool that helps patients find clinical trials, learn about endometrial cancer, and access resources to support informed discussions with healthcare teams.
