We acknowledge ongoing disparities in gynecologic health and reaffirm our commitment to advancing equitable research, awareness, and care.

We also observe Caregiver Appreciation Month. We honor spouses, partners, family members, and friends who support individuals affected by endometrial cancer. Caregivers shoulder emotional, physical, and daily responsibilities, many of which go unseen. Their dedication strengthens our community. We are grateful for every act of support, advocacy, and care.

As we navigate November, let us turn gratitude into action by sharing ECRF’s mission, exploring our resources, and continuing to advocate for research and awareness. Working together brings us closer to ensuring every woman with endometrial cancer is supported and empowered.

Peter Ketch on ctDNA as a Prognostic Biomarker for Early Uterine Cancer

A new study highlighted by MedPage Today shows promising progress: Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is a feasible, prognostic biomarker that can be used to improve risk stratification and disease monitoring in patients with postoperative, early-stage uterine cancer, researchers reported.

The study by Peter W. Ketch, MD, of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Medicine, and colleagues in JCO Precision Oncology assessed whether ctDNA status in patients with stage I/II uterine cancer after surgery could identify those at higher risk of recurrence and predict response to adjuvant therapy.

FDA Approves Diagnostic Tool for Pembrolizumab Combo in Endometrial Cancer

CancerNetwork reports that the FDA has approved the Promega OncoMate MSI Dx Analysis System as a companion diagnostic to identify patients with microsatellite-stable endometrial carcinoma who could benefit from pembrolizumab (Keytruda) plus lenvatinib (Lenvima), according to a press release from the developer, Promega.

“This approval underscores the critical role diagnostics play in accurately matching the right patients at the right time with the right therapy,” said Alok Sharma, PhD, global clinical market director at Promega. “We are committed to delivering reliable tools that guide clinical decisions and help improve patient outcomes.”

‘A medical miracle’: is period blood ‘the most overlooked opportunity’ in women’s health?

According to The Guardian, researchers are increasingly exploring menstrual blood as a promising, noninvasive source of diagnostic information for a wide range of gynecologic conditions. Beyond its potential role in detecting endometriosis, menstrual blood may offer insights into adenomyosis, chronic endometritis, fibroids, polycystic ovary syndrome, and even ovarian and endometrial cancers. Many of these conditions are notoriously difficult to diagnose, often going unrecognized for years, and some currently require invasive tests, such as an endometrial biopsy, to confirm. This growing body of research points to a future where simpler, more accessible testing could help reduce diagnostic delays and improve early detection for those experiencing endometrial and other gynecologic health concerns.
