RESEARCH
Our Commitment to Research.
Research is at the heart of the Endometrial Cancer Research Foundation (ECRF) and central to our mission to create a better future for those impacted by endometrial cancer. As a grassroots organization founded by members of the endometrial cancer community, we believe increasing investment in research is essential to driving progress and improving outcomes.
Our funding priorities are guided by the needs and experiences of the endometrial cancer community, emphasizing research that leads to earlier detection and diagnosis, better treatments, greater access to clinical trials, and improved survivorship and quality of life.
With this commitment in action, ECRF is proud to take an important step forward by funding our first ECRF-Funded Research. This milestone marks an exciting new chapter for our organization, made possible by the generosity and support of our donors, partners, advocates, and ECRF Peach Community.
ECRF’s First Funded Research
We are honored to introduce Anicka AbiChedid, Ph.D. Candidate in Cell and Molecular Biology at Duke University School of Medicine, whose research is the first project to receive ECRF funding.
Her project, “Development of a Less-Invasive Screening Method for Endometrial Cancer,” focuses on developing a less-invasive approach to detecting endometrial cancer earlier in women with Lynch syndrome. By applying ultra-sensitive DNA sequencing technology to detect microsatellite instability (MSI) from blood samples, this research explores a promising approach to addressing current challenges in early detection for those at increased risk.
For ECRF, this first funded project represents more than a milestone. It marks the beginning of putting our community's support directly behind researchers and ideas working to move endometrial cancer research forward.

A Message from Our Founder & President
“We must increase investment in endometrial cancer research.
At ECRF, we are committed to advancing promising research. As we grow, our goal is to expand that commitment from supporting translational research today to funding larger, multicenter research projects and collaborations in the future.
This work is possible because of the generosity and commitment of our donors, partners, advocates, and ECRF Peach Community who believe in our mission and the importance of advancing endometrial cancer research. Together we are building the foundation for what comes next.
Your support fuels research, drives discovery, and brings us closer to better answers, better treatments, and better outcomes for everyone impacted by endometrial cancer
